hey... i am somewhat new to audio and am in the process of building a box for a single 10" square to put in my car. I was looking at the new kicker L7 and will most likely go with that. Does anyone have opinions on them? Also, I need to decide on an amp and size. I was leaning towards PG as I have experience with them. Any ideas would be a huge help. Thanks...

Guess that just depends on what you are wanting it to do. You didn't mention any specific system goals, so the question as to ideas is vague. An opinion of the L7 is that it gets loud. Another opinion is that it sounds a little muddy. Those are just opinions though, see if you can sample the L7 you want to buy IN YOUR CAR. If they can't do that for you, you be shoppin' in the wrong place.

thanks... i am not looking for anything insane... i am basically looking to add some punch to the lifeless system that lacks in the bass department... i listen to a wide variety of music so something that is pretty versatile... dont know if that helps much...

Then my suggestion is keep as much of the original utility of your vehicle as possible. Only when you slap a big sub and box in your unused trunk does the time arise where you need the space most. I suggest an 8" sub in a small vented enclosure. You can get retarded performance out of a good 8" subwoofer system and sound great doing it without taking up much trunk volume as well. Good luck.
