suggestions i need a tight clean sub

hey i drive a vw golf and i am looking for a sub or subs that will be very clean and tight. i listen to more alternative music stuff with a lot of double bass. If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate them. Thanks

how many watts do u have to work with. what size sub would u like, do u want ported or sealed!!
