Suggestions for Preamp/Processor + Amp?

My Logitech Z-5500's are beginning to crap out ... Pretty sure I lost rear channels completely.

I want to get a preamp/processor and a decent sized amplifier for 5.1 or 7.1. I already have a 12" Eclipse sw5200 ready to build with a 500w amp to go with it. Will likely build custom speakers from one of the Parts Express projects page.

Not really sure of a budget to go with, since this will be my first real home audio system. Nothing cheap, but nothing too expensive. There aren't too many 5.1 integrated amps that don't go ahead and include a broadcast tuner in them, as well as all the other bells and whistles that "A/V" receivers include.

2 channel integrated amps are much easier to find.

Take a road trip down to Ga and sample an Outlaw 990 & Parasound HCA-2205. The pre is awesome and the amp delivers 250wpc x 5 into 8ohms. More than enough for a nice little budget HT start. BTW, this Outlaw is pre problems with the latest firmware upgrade.
