suggestions for new setup

Okay, the time has come to re-evaluate my choice of subs for the setup in my new(er) car. I used to drive a 1990 acura legend coupe, now im switching to a 91 nissan 240sx fastback. The car is much smaller and its a hatchback. I WAS running 2 memphis audio M-Class DVC 12's in a sealed box being powered by my Alpine MRV-1507 amp, and that system was pretty **** loud. before i go and waste all my trunk space by putting the 12s in the nissan, i want to try to find a setup that will be loud enough to satisfy my bass needs, handle the amp i have, and not kill me. I was thinkin about selling the memphis subs and getting an RE SE or SX 12, or a 12" Alpine Type-r or Type-x (im an alpine guy myself). The reason i was thinkin about going with 1 sub is the fact that the 240 has such a weird trunk design that it would be hard to put 2 subs in without taking up the whole trunk. I want SQ over SPL though. ANy suggestions? Anyone have the same car with a custom box?

I would suggest a pioneer 3000-spl great sub ... not too expensive get very loud and sound great while doing it... great sql sub.

****... i wish it wasnt DVC.. or i wish it was available in 2 ohm DVC... My amp cant handle 2 ohm loads in bridged mode... and 8 ohms is teh gayness. anyone want an alpine mrv-1507 amp? its freakin awesome if you have the right ohm load.... what amp would you suggest using? or do you think that the alpine would be able to give it enough juice to sound good?

dude it is its available in 2ohm dvc, the 3002spl model check em out, im thinkin bout gettin the 04 thoe

i had 4 of the 3004spl's, i really liked them, looking into the 10's for my truck.

nah i think im gonna go with an alpine. I havent had anything bad to say about them yet, so i think ill stick with em till i have some extra money to play with.
