you sturrin at me brah?
i'm not all that satisfied with what my system did the last time i was on the meter, which was 150.4 tl legal, 152.7 outlaw, holding mid 151s for sb runs. peaking at 37 hz with the windows up and 42 hz outlaw.
that was with the memphis 4k, i just picked up an rd d9 which i hope does more power for me at the 1.2 ohm nominal load i have. i've never attempted to measure box rise. my current box is about 12 cubes gross tuned to 37 hz. it comes over the windowline of my '98 4 door explorer putting me into unlimited classes on the rare occasion that i compete, i'd like to get under that if i can, and use aeroports so i can change the tuning. possibly those big 8x20 ports being sold in the classifieds.
i'm guessing i'm going to have to stay with the sub up port back configuration. the subs for now are remaining, although i may be getting in on the sa-15 pre-order and going to quad 15s if this box doesn't do it for me. if i'm trying to keep the rise down as much as possible to get the most out of the d9, am i going to be building smaller or larger? would it be possible to build for maximum box rise, and wire for .25 ohm nominal without stressing the amp the way that type of load normally would for daily?
