Suggestions for an amplifer for my friend's new Kicker 12" CompVR

The RMS on the Kicker 12" CompVR is 400 RMS. He is trying to buy an amp that won't break his wallet, so any suggestions on decent amps (which means please do not recommend RF, JL, etc.) that will get the job done? I was suggesting Kenwood, MTX, etc.

Just one 12" Kicker VRC.

Breaking his wallet is obviouslly relative. I paid $179 shipped for a brand new RF (300 rms bridged), so...who knows, perhaps $150 or so for a 400W rms bridged amp that is not top of the line?

Ok sounds good, two follow up questions. Out of the many online sites I have, it seems that many places do not sell MA amp's...where is a good place online (besides ebay) to find MA stuff?

Second, is it not a bit pricey, or am I just imagining b/c I just happened to find a great price on a 300W RF amp ($179 shipped), and a 400W amp usually would be much more than $150-$160, as long as they are not top of the line?

$179.00 for that amp isn't that good of a buy. But, that would be a good amp for him. I've ran the same amp off of 2 12" Vr's.

$179 for a brand new RF P3002 isn't a good buy? I mean you might be able to find it cheaper off ebay, but how many places can you find it cheaper than that, and still get the one year warranty? I couldn't find any..
