ok, i have an sx 15 and i just got some aero ports--4 4" about 17" long(from partsexpress.com)--and i was wanting som suggestions on my box build for it. its going in an 89 accord. im goin to face the sub out the rear and i will just tune it to whatever it comes out to with all my ports- sould be between 35 and 38 hz, which should be fine becasue im a little disapointed with th volume @ 32hz

the max, and i mean max because ill have to take out some stuff and kick it a few times to get it in, is:

31" wide x 17" tall x 24" deep

how should i port it? which way should they fire?

should i baffle?

how should i brace? i heard allthread is a good way to go

im hopeing for about 5 net cu ft in the end, and how will that be for my SX? i have a 3.6 CF box now @ 32hz and im hoping that the areos, the extra room, and the higher tuning will make it alot louder cuz im a little dissapointed at the moment

i had my sx in a slot port @ 34hz in about 3.4 cubic foot after displacement and it was pretty **** loud! so theres something else wrong im thinkging

try ports shooting toward the rear of the car mabe?

was yours a sx15?

it is loud, but not as loud as my 2 12" v-maxes, thats why im a little disapointed

Yes mine was a 15.

how much power did you have going to the 12's the reason the 12's were louder might be because they had optimal space and power where as the SX need a lil more room mabe?

You've got plenty of space for it so don't worry too much there. I always perfer the simplicity of a slot ported box, but if you've got the aero ports go ahead and use them.

I've used an SX 15 in ~3.5 cubes tuned to 33-35Hz (don't remember exactly what the current box is that my brother's running) and it's loud, just flat out loud. You shouldn't be disappointed in the output at all. I'd look to go right around 3.5 cubes @30-35Hz depending on your taste, with about 45-50 sq inches of port area.

Check the sticky that moe_lester made and see if he's got a box up that'd work for you around that volume.

well i want to give it as much room as i can

i think i may need to turn up the gain on my nine.1 but im afraid to becase i have 6.5v preamps supposedly so im not suppose to have it very high, right now its at about nine or 10 o' clock

and like i said, i just want to tune it to what it comes out as so i dont have to cut my ports or anything

bigger the box, the lower its tuned so, again i want it as big as i can get it

should i double baffle?
