suggestions for a new system??

okay guys i have not messed with this type of stuff in many many years. i just bought an older jeep cherokee and would like to upgrade it. i dont need the best or high end features but dont want best buy cheap low end either. i think i would like an amp but not sure on a sub- not really a bass guy. im more about quality than loudness. i listen to everything news, jazz, techno, country.

i had 03 jeep with an infitnity factory system with a factory amp and its the best vehicle i ever owned. i put in a 3.5 jack for ipod and the sound was great. i now also have an 07 jeep with boston acoustics and its ok but bot near as good as the inifinty system. my guess is because of the amp.

so i need:

head unit

5-1/4 front and rear speakers

amp

i am kind of leaning toward an alpine head unit and i like this small amp they have that goes with their units. would that work well enough? i think its called the power pack?

as for the speakers no clue, i read JL audio or great for clarity but pricey.

i guess i would like to stay around $150 for HU and $100 for the speakers??

given all this and your knowledge of whats out there anything come to mind? im trying to research it myslef but just so many options and models and i have no clue how to tell whats good and whats not.

well 150 wont get you a nice alpine but it will get you a decent pioneer,components will be your best bet for speakers up frt.look at the cdt cl 61 cv components,again you will have to spend a little more 150 again.dont know much about the powerpack ,but from what i have heard its an ok little amp,so with that you may want something with more power.as for bass 2 10's will be good for you on 500 - 1000 watts rms in a tuned ported box

or he could go 2 10's save space I know you said your not a bassy guy but having a sub woofer serves more of a purposes then just booming. Without a sub woofer you wont be hearing the lower end of your music.
