suggest some 12" spl subs

RE doesn't use woven tinsels for a reason.

Also, the DP I know has stitched spiders for the tinsels...they're not really "woven" into the spider...they're held to the spider by little loops stitched in the spider. But oh well.

The DP is an excellent choice, so the Q would be good as well...

I love my MT daily... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yeah i saw a dp and it didnt look woven but it was still held down unlike my xxx, so why doesnt RE do it, cuz i hope they have a **** good reason for making woofers with tinsel lead slap

I've NEVER heard of a problem with tinsel slap on RE subs...nor have I ever experienced it with the numerous RE subs that I've owned...and installed.

Only problem that I witnessed that could be misconstrued as tinsel slap was the inner dustcap coming loose.

ive never had a problem with lead slap...even the mt's that i have that dont have the little felt pads on the back of the cone...

i personally like em un-woven because soft parts are pretty good about starting on fire, so keeping the thing that brings the power in away from the nice dry materials is a plus imo...i have had problems with the leads breaking though...and dust-caps shooting off, lol

Yes, and under extreme excursion environments...in the long run...conventional tinsels are better.

Well, I've seen it happen to an SX12 and a XXX12 before, the inner dustcap (basically a cap on the former, covering the gap... fits right over it). The "cone" you see (with logo and such) is actually a larger outer dustcap. If the inner cracks from stree under high excursion, or just randomly...it can cause the illusion of tinsel slap.
