hi, im lookin at getting rid of my two twelve inch MTX thunder 4000's and buying one 15" MTX thunder 8000. should i do it? or should i get two 12 inch alpine swr's, which do u think would be louder? i know that a 15 can get lower than a 12, but what would be louder, 2 12"s or 1 15", thanks for the info, its much appreciated.

Alright here is my opinion! Type R's(I happen to own two 12's) are louder than MTX 8000's(a friend of mine has a pair) and that isnt me thinking my stuff is louder but it is the truth type R's rock and rock hard and crystal clear. Then 15 yes may get lower probably not enough to make me want them. But 2 12's have more cone area than a 15 by geometry so you will move more air with 2 12's and a considerable amount when you consider that is the name of the game. So just like I did get 2 12inch type R's my opinion that is it so dont hold it againist me.

i have a 15 inch type r, it's crystal clear for my love of sq, but hits 143 in the spl lanes as well, it will definetly take out a 15 inch 8000...

1.5 cubic feet, and i have a planet audio 1200d running the sub, and a p 250 running my alpine components. the 1200 d puts out 1060x1@2ohms

Wow thats a tiny box man...but 143 db's is enough .Are you maxed out for space in your ride or are you keeping your car functionable to carry stuff? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
