Hi there, I'm new on this forum so hope this is in the right place!
I have a problem with my amp and sub setup in my car. Its not a fancy install but does me fine and its been in my car with no problems in the past. Recently I have had this problem where the subwoofer makes a loud vibrating noise. I'm stumped because I can't find the cause of this problem. The setup I'm running is a JBL GTO 2000 amp, 12" Pioneer sub, 8 gauge wiring kit, and Pioneer MP3 headunit. I had someone who knows a bit about car audio and reckoned that one of my channels on my amp has blown although there maybe a possibility the RCA cable (phono cable) is damaged and advised getting a new amp.
I've purchased a brand new JBL 2060 amplifier and I'm still getting the same problem. I have also tried 2 different phono cables to see if it makes a difference and no luck at all. The volume of the amp is not high at all, only around 1/3 of the way up and it seems to do it from a very low volume level when I start to turn the volume up on the headunit.
I was hoping someone might come up with an answer?
Thank you.
Rich.
