Subwoofer Grill for RF Punch Stage 1 10" sub?

I had to get my eight year old JL Audio 10" subs replaced today because the surrounds disintegrated. I didn't notice until I got home that the installer didn't use the old grills because the new subs were too big.

I'm going to have to have grills because I use the trunk to transport stuff. The installer is an hour away, and I really don't feel like making a special trip just for grills. Considering that the Fosgate subs are oversized, would it be safe just to order 12 inch grills along with the plastic clamps?

That fact that it will look stupid notwithstanding, will there be any other problem with using oversized grills? Thanks for any help.

I emailed Parts-Express, and they said that the above mentioned 12" inch grill might work IF the Punch sub didn't have extensive excursion. Does anyone know what the excursion is on this particular model?

EDIT:

OK, I just checked on the Rockford Fosgate site, and the excursion is listed as 1". Is that a lot?

It's an 1998 Acura Integra. It's powered by an old Punch amp. After eight years, I honestly don't remember what the power rating is. It's a model number 40.2.

These new subs, just like the last ones, sound pretty anemic from outside, but they are incredible inside. I'm buying a new car in another year or so, and I will miss the acoustics of the Acura. I've never heard a car with better bass acoustics than that thing. I'm guessing the interior size and shape is perfect for the constuctive bass waves in just the right region. Any lower would have been a constant drone, and any higher would've been too boomy.

I've been out of the loop on car audio since I bought the Acura, and I'm looking forward to dabbling again when I get a new vehicle. When I was a teenager, I bought every car stereo magazine I could find for two or three years. Those were fun times.

I recently got into the home theater hobby after building a house, and I realized car audio was a whole lot easier to deal with than the home stuff after dealing with it for awhile. Nothing says frustrating like crawling around on the floor with a microphone like an idiot trying to find the best location to put a powered sub.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyway, thanks again for the advice. I think I'll go with the cheap grills since excursion won't be an issue.
