Subwoofer for SQ and low bass

If you decide to go with the IDQ I would put it in a low tuned box rather than a sealed one. Those subs sound great, but the output in a sealed box may not have all the output you are looking for listening to rap. If you step up to the IDmax, I think you can get the desired output, but IMO when comparing the idq12 and idmax12 the only difference is the max gets noticeably louder at any power level and has less problems handling higher power.

i am not sure about 15's bcuz i want SQ and i also listen to other genres outside of hip-hop but... i understand the 15's can hit lower

It all depends on the subs...those are two big stereotypes that are definitely not set in stone by any means.

If you're not looking to spend a ton of money, I'd recommend the Mach 5 IXL for ported, and the Dayton Reference HF for sealed.
