Subwoofer for computer speakers?

my sister doesnt know sub control and straight ****ed the little 6" in our box, so does anyone know the rules about this? would a 6" car sub mount in and work without any problems? haha might be a dumb question but ALL my music is on here and i need some kind of bump on here sence i dont have any in my truck at the time...i know 6" arent expensive so please let me know.

Shouldn't be a problem. I want to get a better sub for my computer speakers. The sub that's in it now sucks, and distorts and crackles. May even build a small box for it, and build a little box for the electronics board and such.

What speakers do you have?

Boston BA7500G set up, at the time (2000) they were the best you could do and this shit gets loud as **** and booms throughout the house, but not anymore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

you won't want to put just any car speaker in there. most 6 inch car speakers are mid bass. it will sound really bad. you need a 6 inch sub. parts express might be an option. and there's no guaruntee that the box you have will be close to what a different sub needs.

Ahh, you have one of the nice ones. I have a crappy little Altec Lansing 5.1 surround. It's like 9w rms per speaker, and the sub is 30w rms. I want to get one of those speaker systems with the 8"-10" woofer with like 400 rms, that'd be the shit. I listen to music more at home then in the car.

you can build a really nice one for fairly cheap. a 10 inch sub seeing 240 watts pounds my living room nicely.

i had a set of studio moniters hooked up to my pc for awhile, they sounded amazing, far better then any "computer speaker" setup ive ever heard. but they didnt get real low

you can do like i did and get the 5.25" neo tang band off PE and a dayton 25w plate amp.

i actually have it sealed right now (even though it should be ported) and it does get very loud for being its size in a 10x10ft bedroom.
