Subwoofer cutout is a little to big, is it still good?

Hey everyone,

So I'm making a box for my two SSA Dcons and one of the mounting holes that I cut is a perfectly snug fit with the driver, but the other one is a little bit big. About 3/16 all the way around the driver. I know that this may sound a bit crazy but I just don't want to glue it then later learn that it won't work. Thanks for the help!

Angle the screws out ward and go slow. Should work fine.

line it with this Frost King E/O 1-1/4 in. x 7/16 in. x 10 ft. Black High-Density Rubber Foam Weatherstrip Tape-R516H at The Home Depot

and as said previously angle the screws properly. With the foam tape, it should create a nice seal also.

I'm planning on using T-nuts to secure the subwoofer, would that still work? Also, should I use anything to seal the more snug subwoofer hole or will the current rubber ring that came with it be enough?

I think T nuts are a bit much for Dcons IMO. I would use some weatherstripping like said before.

I'm already double baffling the front of it, but I built it so that the front piece would go around the entire subwoofer. I haven't glued it yet, would it just be better to cut a new piece and cut a new hole in that?

A new piece will allow the t-nuts to have the most surface area to sink into. Use the scraped piece for window bracing
