Subsonic filter???

I am going to be running a mmats 300hc and it doesnt have a subsonic filter. is it necessary for me to have it? I understand that it filters out noise undetectable to the human ear and can hurt subs in a ported box. My application utilizes a ported box so am i going to ruin them.

I had a crossover with a filter previously but traded it for another amp.

You only need it if you are going with a ported box.

Like i said above, im using a ported box. Will it ruin them is what im asking.
