Subs with minimal volume requirement

I own a civic and can squeeze roughly 5.5 cubes out of my trunk if I build the box inside my trunk. I have already subtracted the displacement of the port. So my question is

What 15" subs can sound good and get relatively loud in about 2.75 cubes each?

It's the displacement of the motor and basket you have to worry about. You can't subtract the displacement for the port and call it a day because you have no idea how big the port needs to be.

Im just saying what subs can perform almost optimally in 2.5 to 2.75 cubes without sounding like shit or peaking a lot at a certain frequency.

read the 15" challenge to get an "idea" of what subs did well in 2.5cubes. Your results may vary of course...

ok I will see. Might just go sealed with about 3+ cubes per sub

or you could do 12"s in the proper size ported enclosure and not give up power handling or frequency response.

My Diamond Audio TDX15D2 is in a sealed 3 cubic foot box and it is to big for it. Had it on a a 2400 watt amp and it sounded great and shook that little Dodge Colt of my friends up pretty good.
