Sub's up port side or sub's back port back Trunk build 2 sundown 12s @ PPI 5000d

About to cut out my sub holes and aero port .

The dudes at parts express said people are seeing good results with Subs up and ports forward Or sub's Up and port to the side.

My port is 6x10 aero port and My box is side to side 35" no wiggle room so would I get this beneficial result having a port smashed up against my inner wheel well or port face the Back is better . Its not just a box its pretty much a custom built like it was built in install all voids filled with a false wall in front box.

Over all i want the SPL and loudness to come from the front of the vehicle from a distance the whole point of the build is to be heard loudly from a distance with still heavy lows in the cab. I should be around 146db

But once I cut out the port and sub spots there's no going back

Kept in mind I hare trunk rattle so minimizing that with placement and dynomat will help.

Any ideas

Sub back port back for sure in a trunk. Sometimes I question partsexpress customer service bc they've given me wrong info on a few occassions. Port back will not only make you louder but it will bring the bass up front. More cabin gain, more lows, and better imaging. It will definitely introduce more trunk rattle but once you get it properly deadened, it will make the biggest difference. Have the sub/port about roughly 6" or so from the trunk lid for best results.

Well prior to reading the replies I jumped the gun and cut out subs facing up but I did do port facing rear so maybe itll be OK half and half situation.

I'd have to build a new box to get subs firing back.

But my box is already 21.5 deep and my whole situation was to retain some trunk storage area and keep box as far forward as possible because this isn't just a box in a trunk it is a complete build filling all voids etc...custom installed false wall in front box 1/2 MDF amp racks angled from floor to trunk opening carpeted so having box take up whole trunk defeats the visual aspect of a custom look .

I think it will sound great

Using 6" x10 aero port on two sundown sa12s with a PPI 5000d pushing about 1000 to each 12 .

Will sound deaden soon as I find the source of rattle im sure will be rear bumper and liscense plate mainly.
