Subs not hitting hard.

Got a new h/u and the subs don't hit near as hard as the old one. i put the sub level all the way up and it doesnt barely hit. im thinking 1/2 of my rca is bad cause the sub puts out, just not full blast... anything else i should check before i re-run an rca?

does it have a bass engine? my alpine hits sooo soft until i turn it to bass engine 3 and it BOOMS. there are 3 settings for the BBE (bass engine), which is different from the actual bass setting.

thats weird. Are you familiar with the HU? It took me a while to figure out all the settings on my sister's CDA-9833...

Should be 4V preouts so that wouldn't have anything to do with it

ive gone through all the settings... the 9835 doesn't have BBE. they added that in 2006. i think im gunna test another RCA ran down the center of my car before i rerun one along the side to make sure the RCA is what it is. i just wanted to ask if anyone might have used this h/u and knew something i didn't. i'll check it out tomorrow some more... thx guys.

» Bass Engine Pro (5-band parametric EQ, 6-channel digital time correction, 6-position crossover with variable slope, plus subwoofer phase and level controls

taken from ebay, did u check that

Max on the alpine should be about 26-28 volume wise. Then it really starts distorting.

And make sure your Sub control volume is all the way up to 15 so you get full preout voltage. Then just adjust the gain on the amp to match.
