subs making a popping sound?

this is a sqaure woofer right? i've seen this thread from a 15" L7 the glue on the surround came off thats why its making a slapping sound.

could be the amp distorting. try another amp see if it still does it.

it only does it every now and then. it doesnt do it everytime the sub moves.

do i need to run a seperate power cable if i run 2 amps?

like someone said about ur cone could have unglued from ur surround causing the popping noise when it hits hard.

x2 on the grounds and on using the DMM. You can pick one up at RadioShack for $20.

If both subs are doing this I doubt it's the surround (unless you somehow beat the hell out of them and managed to damage both of them). I would not rule out the amp though, even though it's new. I have a friend who has the same problem with crackling subs (he tried two sets) and it turned out to be the amp.

yes, loose ground can also cause popping.

more than likely its the ground if they pop when u turn the amp on and off, but during music and playing i doubt its the ground more less the sub
