subs from EbAy?

what do u think about kickers XPL's compared to comp vr's. XPL's are a little higher on price

And DHD doesn't make anything that's even remotely good, to my knowledge ...
are kickers and type r's good in sq?. sq does mean more bass than being loud right?

SPL subs are for maximum loudness, basically, usually designed with little regard to sounding good ...
i am ery confused i dont know what to choose from between kickers comp , type r's or the permiers

Originally posted by Jmac It depends on what you want and what you want to spend ...

Keep in mind, CompVRs are $60 a piece and more SPL oriented than the other two.

The Premiers are $48 a piece and are pretty much equal to the Type-Rs in SQ and power handling, but lose in SPL and are basically only for sealed boxes.

Type-Rs are in the high-90s and low-100s, so the most expensive of the 3. Probably the best sub of the 3, but you can get two Premiers for the same price as one Type-R ...

If you're looking for SPL, I'd go with the CompVRs ...

If you're looking for SQ, I'd go with the Premiers ...

If you're not on a tight budget, I'd go with the Type-Rs or equivalent (i.e. Shiva) ... Or a single ~$200 sub that will provide a good mix of both SQ and SPL ...
what about the ed'k? heard lots of good things about them

Originally posted by Jmac ED Ks are supposedly a little better than the Type-Rs in pretty much every way, but for $20 more per sub ...

I haven't used one so I'm pretty much just regurgitating what I've heard, but the response to the Ks has been overwhelmingly positive ... Except the dust caps have come off in a few cases ...
what website can i check them out at?

it all depends on what type of bass you want i have had subs facing foward that sounded great . back always sounds good . in the sides of my trunk facing the center of the trunk . everything worked well it has alot to do with box design. if you have the extra time build a couple different boxes to see what you like the best and put speakers in different places . then you can see how you like the sound the best . good luck

not in my opinion i think the comp vr,s will kill the poinners in sq buts thats what i think everyody has different thoughtas on speakers if you want sq then go get image dynamics 12,s idq d4,s they will sound hot if that is what you are looking for. and they will have better spl than both them subs

Originally posted by Jmac IDQs are like $170 ... Against a Pioneer Premier which is almost as good for 1/3 of the price ...
170 man where you going online brand new 130 a pop and the idq,s will spank the poinners you are talking to totally different leavels of subs image dynamics takes pride in there work poinner is mass produced . no poinner will ever come close to an image dynamics sub. not in a million years .
