Subs Cutting Out for short periods then kicking back in

Ok, so here's the deal, at higher volumes my subs have been cutting out for 5-10 seconds at a time. I will have it around Vol 26, subs will go out, turn to 20, subs come back on. Sometimes it can play 2-3 full songs on vol26, sometimes not more than a minute (even of the same song, so not the difference in bass lines). I also noticed I've blown 2-3 100a AGU Fuses over the last 2 months.

2 factors have changed since this began occuring:

1 - My underhood fuse was changed from 200a to 150a

2 - The weather has been cold.

This never happened before the weather went sub 30 or before the fuse swap.

It shouldnt be voltage drops as Im only running 1200 watt amp with a second battery and gains set fairly low. Before this I could run at vol 30-32 for 3-4 songs at a time with NO issue.

Any suggestions guys? Its getting aggrevating not being able to bang on subs.

Equipment is 1200w orion amp, 2 sundown sa's, shitty qpower 0ga that came 200a fuse now replaced with 150, and a fused distro block w/ 100a AGU fuses.

Sounds like the thermal overload is going bad in the amp...................maybe?

Check over your wiring.. could be RCA's cutting out or an intermittent connection somewhere..

It could also be speaker wire shorting out, or the tinsel leads shorting out..

No... All of you are wrong. its your voltage dropping. the reason it is doing it in the cold weather is because your alternator on your car produces a higher voltage when it is colder outside, in turn letting your amp see a higher voltage causing it to put out more power than in the warm weather at the same volume level. The cutting out can be fixed by improving your electrical. I would suggest another battery.

I was hoping it was the cold causing the electrical to work harder.

I'll prolly just take it easy for the next month until this winter ends.
