Subs Cutting in and out after about 20-30min

My setup: Two Pioneer 12" subs with a 1000 watt amp.

I've had this problem with my subs since I installed them and it's quite annoying to say the least... I'm fairly sure it has something to do with overheating because I've noticed after I've been playing music for a while the amp gets extremely HOT. To hot to touch. What do you guys think to problem could be?

You should give it back before it turns into a headache

Your amp is most likely ok.Your ohm load is to low for that amp=heat.Wire them to a higher ohm and you should be ok.
