subs are making popping noise sometimes only

i wanna say its in my head unit but here lately it started popping normally when the volume is at the lower end its done it before then stopped and now its at it again its just a random popping i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and or how to fix it cause it can be rather anoying it normally stops if i turn the head unit off but sometimes it pops after that .... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Check your wires... maybe. Newb with car audio, but is it anything like when you touch the end of the wire to the speaker while there's juice and it pops?

Do you have access to another HU? Even just some old crappy stock one?

If you can hook it up and still get a pooping sound you've at least ruled out the head.

Or could it maybe be somethings dirty? I had an old analog multi-track recorder I used to jam with (musician) and I would get scratchy sounds a lot. Just needed to take it apart and blow it out and clean all the pots/knobs and faders. Worked like a dream after.

Don't know if something similar could happen to a HU...

yeah dude it may be your HU i had the same problem before, my sub would pop everytime i turned the volume from o to 1 or changed the song it would pop, after changing all my grounds and everything i found it was my HU.
