so iv noticed the past few days that my subs get a little stinky, i have everything set with a dd1, and my voltage doesnt drop before 13.5 while im driving. im runnin 2 dc lvl 3s on dc 2k, so i dont know if its to much power for them or what or maybe its cuz some of my music is clipped. anyone have any input?

clipping means over heating. it depends on how bad the clipping is, personally I can't understand why you would listen to clipped songs?
Nearly every song released nowadays has anywhere from +1dB to +3dB clipping (total, not just for the bass). OP those level 3's can take about 800rms safely each, and that DC 2k is pretty underrated. If the subs are getting stinky, just tone down your gain a little bit. If you wanna stick with the level 3's and run that much power I would consider upgrading to the new M2's or getting some level 3/4 soft parts

ya im thinkin about upgrading to an 18. but i was told by alot of people that the 2k would be a perfect match for the lvl 3s. but maybe its to much.

For the M2's I'm sure they would be fine. My buddy is running a pair of level 3/4's off a 1.2k and they don't have a problem doing their thing and they hardly get warm. But the 2k is a lot of power, especially if it's actually doing close to 2400-2500w

ya i was told this before the m2s were even out, even rusty said it would be a good match. but i guess it must be a bit to much power, but the dustcaps are not gettin hot or nothin they get a lil warm but nothing major. you would think after rise it would be getting recomended power if that even.

Can't tell ya for sure without knowing your actual box rise. Kind of strange though that the subs get smelly without the dustcap getting warm

they get a little warm, but i dont think its to overly warm. but i dont really know what to warm is for a sub so.

did you wash them before install? most people forget you need to rinse new subs off in distilled water to clean them before install or they can/will stink when powered..
no i sure didnt just droped them in, there is probably a bit of sawdust in the box also.
