Just picked up an older Rockford Fosgate power 500BD amp birthsheet says 762 watts at 2ohm. Need a sub for it now since I know I cant run my RF P1 12's with it.Would like to stay under 100 bucks if possiblfor a decent 12in sub I have seen HiFonics Brutus' for my price range but dont know if it can handle the amp. Have the room to go sealed or vented on box.

Why can't you run the RF P1 12's with it?

I have the p1s running on a old RF 125.2 and they are a great match I am just adding in another sub besides I would have to set the gain waaaaaaaay down for those P1's they are 150 rms 300 peak.

Audio You think that sub would be ok with that amp huh? I was stoked to get the amp of ebay for 62 bucks incl shipping already hooked it up just to make sure it works and all was good so I am looking forward to getting all I can out of the amp.

I gotcha, It is always better to have more amp than subs, especially in the lower powered systems. Gives you some headroom to play with. Yea, you need a couple of good subs that can handle 250 watts rms. Do you like the sealed box for sq, or are you limited as far as space requirements to go with a much louder ported box design?

Quack man no need to give up just trying to get some suggestions been out of the game for awhile and there are so many new brans its hard to decipher whats good and what looks good but *****. I truly appreciate the advice. How about this besides what you guys suggest I will make a list of say 5 subs I find in my range and then see where we are.

lol..I was just gonna suggest these on the RF500 in a quality ported enclosure...OR the TNT's, SA's, OA12's, etc mentioned earlier would allow room for growth if you bought a more powerful amp down the road

American Bass DX124

I would not just add a sub to the two you already have unless it is exactly the same sub as the other two. For one thing, you will have many performance issues, and well, probably some peer issues as well. Two good subs that take the power you have in the right ported box will give you more gains than I think you can realize.

Quack well maybe I should just pop the p1's and the amp I have for them out and go with a 15 or a 18 in a big *** ported box. I was just really thinking I have the 2p1's on and decent amp in a perfect box for them and they sound real nice. I was hoping I could just throw another box in and run that sub off the RF500 and add to what I have already.

EDIT: Planet Audio,Autotek,or audiopipe any good?
