Sub suggestions, 10'sor 12's

Alright, finally measured my trunk. At the smallest point, it's 38" wide and 15" tall, so 2 12's won't be a problem.

My budget is about $400 for subs alone, I'd rather keep it near $300, but I'll pay for quality.

I've been suggested 2x DD1510's, a DD3512, a HD312, or a 12" TC-2000.

I want somethign that can get LOUD, but still sound crisp and clear. Bascially, th ebest I can get for $400, I MAY be able to be convinced $500, but I'll have to see how soon I get my new job. Remember, I still have to get an amp and HO Alternator (Looking to put atleast 2000W through these if not more for competitions, less obviously for street, in addition to my 400W amp for my door speakers), wire (enough to also do the big 3), etc.

Two Fi ssd subs would get loud, But so will everything else you said. hd tc dd are all real good subs.

You can prolly just go with a single higher end 12 tho and a better built box. something like tc3200 a btl or dd in a higher line

Alright, I think I have it narrowed down to a single DD3512 or a single HD312

I just sent for an e-mail on the price of the DD3512 new from the factory, and the HD312 is $364 shipped new from the factory.

I'm keeping my eyes open for deals...but won't have enough until I start my new jobs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Any suggestions between the two?

never heard the hd, but the dd is extremely nice. was going to go with them myself, now rethinking my next subs.

and to let you know, dd told me a 3512 is $365 plus shipping.

I had a DD3512. I was very musical in a 2 cu. ft. @ 33 Hz ported enclosure.
Very similar to my JL 12W6v2, with a little more output.
What were you able to hit on it hz-wise and how much were you putting on it? Like I said, I'm going for more of a sq set-up, but I'd like SOME volume to it.

Aw man, or a Fi BTL 12"?

I mean, new, they're all relativly the same price after shipping and stuff. I've heard these things are amazing. How are the in a mainly SQ set-up, but one I can blair every now and then? If I can find a used one that'd be perfect.

yea, your not online, so ill post here:

maybe look into an FI Q, itll still get loud and sound good doing it...plus you probably wouldnt have to upgrade your alternator...saving you another 400 bucks possibly

Yeah, I'm looking into the Q now, I think that might be what I get in a month or so.

I'll keep this all in the same thread.

If I'm putting out 2kW RMS, would I need a bigger alternator? My stock one is putting out 115 amps, but not sure how much my car is using. 2004 Ford Mustang, rear defrost, air condition, power windows and power seats. I took out the stock sound system all together, well, the amps for it, atleast.
