Sub/Port design for Forester

I'm in the process of putting together a system and am looking for advice on placement and arrangement. I'm working on getting an RE SX12 and will be putting it into a 3cu. box tuned @ 33. First of all, do you think is sufficient to get this thing moving and should I tune the box differently?

Now, I obviously have a couple options on the arrangement. I was thinking the standard sub back/port back but wonder...sub up/port back? I know testing is the best way to figure this out, but I don't have the time to keep building boxes so I'd like to get as close to perfect on the first shot (not possible, but it's fun to dream).

Basically, do you think the traditional sub back/port back is the best setup for the Forester or should I try something else?

seems to me that sub up and port back would work well. most suv's i've done, sub up, port back works very well.

Ok, how does this look? I've decided on sub up/port back, but I'd like some criticism (if any) on this design.

I don't really like L-shaped ports.

I prefer them over Folded ports, even though folded ports look cooler. I personally say go with a nice aeroport for ease.

Ok, revision: 23.5" x 13.5" x 19" ===> 2.67cubes internal. I think I'll go with a 4" aero/flared so my port length should be 9.72" if I want to achieve 33hz tuning...correct?

If I'm calculating correctly, I'll have a net volume of 2.441cubes (assuming 2.67 box volume - .16 for the displacement of an RE SX12 - .06948 for the displacement of the port). Is this right?

i have a chevy TB 02 with an dc lvl 2 15 ported box at 30hz sub up port back and this thing gets loud...
