Sub Box Question

I'm sort of new to car audio, and I was wondering does the direction the box is firing make a difference in sound, I'm trying to get a SQ system and was thinking about having the woofers firing towards the cabin instead of towards the trunk, I was unsure if the direction would make a difference because I have 2 12's in a sealed enclosure, and help or thoughts would be very helpful. thanks

play around with it. It differs car to car so its hard to say what sounds the best.

Perfect example, in my civic I had my shiva in a ported box firing towards the side. in my truck, I had my alumapros firing towards the front.

Just move it around and see what you like best

I wondered the same thing till I tried it, when I first did it sounded like like crap, but the more I played around with it I found out I had the subs sitting to close to the back seat, moved the box back about 3 to 4 inches and now the sound is great its almost like nite and day......to my ears, but like johnecon said you just have play around with it

I think I'll just play around like you guys suggest, I just have to wait til' my new wiring gets here, the place where I had my install done cut all my wires short, so they are only long enough to reach the amps where they are know.

Yea I did, i didn't relize what they did until recently, they are supposed to give you a little length to play around with aren't they?
