Hi, if i build an enclosed sub box, is it ok just to drill a small hole for the wires to go through, or does it need to be air tight?

Ie, do I need to purchase one of those plastic terminals that allow wires to connect inside to outside without haveing a hole?

Or, can I just have the wires go through a drilled hole, even if there is a bit of air space and gap around the wires

as long as you seal aroudn the hole with silicone or caulk you should be fine. you could also use bolts, washers and nuts as terminals
I would like to see a pic of bolts, washers, and nuts being used. I'm in the same proposition as the OP and I'm not sure if I should get a hole cut for a cup
