ok guys getting ready to order my sub and box. Fi only responds to emails....very slowly i might add.

i am wanting to order a 12" ssd, and a large ported enclosure from fox acoustics. I an wanting to know if the fi sub will fit in the box depth wise, the fi is only about 6.5 deep but the fox boxe uses tubs which are like deep bowls

It will take a month to get your sub, and in my opinion it is worth the wait.

Build a proper box, you will be much happier with the results... or have someone build it for you.

If you go to Fi's page, then to their forum and look around a bit, you will find plans for a box for the 12" SSD.

going in a 2013 dodge ram crew cab under rear seat shops around me are RIDICULOUS in regards to building boxes for this application.....on building one, not feasable with work schedule or ability for that matter. must be a clean look as the wife must approve....not giving up seating have two little ones

If the mounting depth is right for the fi ssd then you should be good to go. i have used the fox boxes in my chevy they are a pretty nice solution and sound very good. you need to verify the depth though and the magnet diameter. I honestly think you would be hard pressed to find someone to build you a better box and it would be a real pita for you to build something even close to the quality of this.

the fi ssd 12 is only 6.5 deep but it has a 7.5" wide magnet and the sub tapers in slightly below the magnets....getting info speedily from fi isn't happening they will not provide me a number to call and talk too someone which pisses me off....i guess i am old fashioned so i have been trying to order a sub from them for about two weeks .... i hope the wait is worth it

Yeah I had the ten and know that the magnet tapers down to probably around four inches. The actual mounting depth is the big concern the ten is listed as six inches and was actually closer to seven. What I had to do was removed that hump make a 3/4 mdf spacer then screw and glue that between the hump and the box. Also you will probably have to do a little sanding in the mounting hole I would suggest getting some rough grit sand paper and do it by hand it will come out a lot better. Also buy a roll of closed cell foam 3/4" wide to use as a gasket between the sub and the enclosure don't use tnuts on this enclosure either find some heavy duty wood screws.

If you haven't bought the sub yet I would strongly consider the two tens vented box only like 20 bucks more and get 2 alpine type r's and be extremely happy when you hear it. I hear if wait times are more like a month now and they will not contact you.
