stupidity hurts me

ROFL!!! :)
I don't care how this guy wanted to put his system together, it's in HIS RIDE, not mine!

Why do you all care so much? Does it make you feel cool to boss others around with "all you know" about car audio? Kinda sick and sad if you ask me.

Since your clueless, I'll explain. As you know/may not know, gonna go with may not know, almost amps come with bass knob to give the user flexibility to control the bass/amp whatever you wanna call it. In all my years in car audio, I've NEVER seen a control knob mounted IN THE BACK on top of the sub enclosure. What good does that do for the person? Absolutely nothing. They are meant to be mounted close to the driver, popular areas include under dash, nestled in the center console, etc. My big mono amp came with a control knob. I just choose not to install it.

Exactly my preference too, but not this guy's. Leave him alone about it. It's HIS RIDE! Not your's or mine.

Why do so many here like to look down on other's toys?

Technically, it IS in the correct spot.

Since its a trash asss new Planet Audio amp, its definately some distortion inducing bass knob that shouldnt be used.........problem is, i bet its turned way up

Nah. It SHOULD be up front.

I've never seen one in the back. I thought I saw everything. This proved me wrong.

John - In your tiny little mind everyone should be able to do anything they want as it is "their" system, right?

Wire it wrong - that's ok

Mount the tweeters on the headrests - that's ok

Mount subs out of phase - that's ok

Gain and bass boost on max - that's ok

No one should ever say anything to anyone to help them, right?

Unicorns, rainbows, drum circles, take from the rich give to the poor, that is the way you see life, right?

Wow lol that's pretty **** funny. But I don't care what he does its not my car. It's his vision.

But you CAN mount amps on a box, right? As long as you put some sort of rubber mat under them to cease vibration?

It is one of those things that you shouldn't do (in theory) but many do and have no issues.

I have done many installs with the amps mounted directly to the box and never had an issue however, I no longer do it as it is not "best practice" - which is another way of saying "the best way of doing something"

Oh ok I gotcha. I am thinking for my next build since the box will take up my whole hatch floor, to mount the amp on the back of the box. Industrial strength Velcro from Walmart.

The correct use for that knob
Unplug it

Unmount it

Toss in trash
One works OK for me, the Alpine RUX-KNOB, I kid you not! That's it's real product name! Allows me to crank down the sub a bit when it gets a little overpowering compared to the rest of the sound my car audio system is producing.

What is the hatred for this John guy? Lmao
Some here are just insufferable egotistical pricks and they can't stand anyone not kowtowing to their ostensible car audio expertise. That's all.

Like they are the ONLY ONES who can do anything right in car audio, because they know SO MUCH! ROFL!!
