stupid question about basic wiring

new guy here. i ran into a small problem and figured that this place would be the best place to ask for help. ive looked around here before and got alot of info, i just dont like to post if i cant add anything usefull.

anyway, this is going to be a very easy and stupid question im sure. what is the proper way to wire a 6 speaker setup to the hu? 2 5x7 in rear and 2 5.25 and 2 3.5 for the front.

really what i dont know is how to wire the front. should they be run in a series or parallel or does it matter for the standard speakers?

ive installed all my stereos/subs myself for the last 10 years, but never had to do a complete wiring job like this. i allways used the factory wire. the car i have now has had all the wireing cut out.

also any suggestion for what guage wire i should use for the regular speakers?

parallel the fronts, that should be fine. However, if this is a factory option application.... It's probably already done at the wiring harness.

You're gonna have a problem with the fronts. Assuming this is an aftermarket HU, it won't like 2 sets of speakers in parallel (2 ohms) and putting them in series (8 ohms) would be weak.

Ideal solution is a small 2 channel amp for the 5.25's. 40-50 watts each channel will run just about anything. This configuration gives you the best options for future upgrades and gives your main front speakers some "priority".

Option 2 is lose the 3.5's. They don't add all that much anyway. Mine keep burning out
