Stupid installation question from a noob (mounting screws)

I just got a Sony CDXGT565UP from Amazon Warehouse. Unfortunately, it did not come with the mounting screws. I tried the screws that came with the rails, but they seem too big. Are the screw holes supposed to be self tapping? Am I supposed to really push down on these screws when I screw them in? The holes look like they are "tabbed".If not, what size is the screw? I'd hate to return this just because of mounting screws. I am hoping that a trip to home depot will do the trick.

M5-6mm screws but I'd take it with me to the hardware store to be sure.
