Stupid capacitor

i have no idea, the little resistor light went dim and then the voltage just shot up from 13.2 to 24.8 just like that...
What did you charge it off of? Your vehicle? Unless you have a 24V system in your vehicle and you don't know it, something is wrong internally with the cap. Don't use it.

More importantly, what's the voltage reading of your cables where you were attempting to hook this up? Test without the cap in place. Do you have multiple batteries?

charged it off my cars battery... i tested my cars battery with a digital multi-meter and its resting at 13.1, no extra batteries or anything...

That's not possible to charge to 24V, unless something was somehow wrong internally. Again, toss it.
