i love me some Audio technicas. they sound great for the price on just about anything. used the 4050 and 4060 on vocals, guitar, drums bass and room mic. mic placement is everything though. what are you doing vocal wise? for music?

Well ive been into making beats.. and wanna do some mixtape stuff from my computer... figure a good quality mic would help

just go with a Shure SM58. About $100. You can find deals on eBay but watch out my bro got scammed for a fake SM58 the other day, they send it in a real shure box and everything, says shure on it and all, it's just lighter than most mics and is missing some of the writing on lip of the mic but you really should invest about a couple hundred bucks into a nice 2 channel pre-amp they make all the difference in the world.

Awesome... i know im not gonna get the best of the best.. i just want something that will sound clear and actually sound good..

and yeah i was planning on getting a preamp too
