Stuck Between Amps

Hello everyone,

Question:

Would it make a difference sending 80 watts to an 85 RMS speaker compared to 100 watts?

Background:

I have been looking into upgrading my door speakers to components (IA I Series), but I am having a little difficulty deciding between two amps to power them with; a Rockford Fosgate P300x2 (100x2 @ 4) or a Boston Acoustics GTA-802 (80x2 @ 4).

The speakers ask for 85 and I have read many places it is better to overpower than under, but if the difference between the watts per channel are not going to affect the SQ that much I would rather save the $50 and get the BA amp.

Get the boston, probably underrated anyhow.

I've always liked the Boston amps but realistically you wouldn't hear the difference in power output....
