Struggling to get Amp to work (Alpine MRP-M650)

Hello everyone, I have a question about my amplifier. I am currently using an Alpine MRP-M650 to power my Kicker CVT-12. I also use a 1 farad capacitor about 6 inches from the amp. I know it isn't the most ideal setup, but I have limited options in my garage and little money to upgrade. I have had this setup working before and am completely at a loss as to why it won't work now. I checked both fuzes in the amp and they haven't burnt out and replaced the fuze right off of my battery. I wanted to use my sub the other day so I just hooked it up again. When I turned my truck on, the blue light on top of the amp lit up right away but no sound came from my sub at all - the cone didn't even vibrate. However, I was in a hurry so I had to leave before I could trouble shoot it. By the end of my 15 minute drive, I noticed that the amp light had gone very dim and didn't shut off when I turned the vehicle off. Within another minute, the light went completely out and hasn't turned on since. I just opened up the amp and nothing appears to be fried inside so I don't know what to do. Any thoughts or suggestions?

sounds like a diode popped inside possibly.get a dmm and check voltage at the amp ,make sure its good ,also test remote voltage .try a jumper wire from the + on the amp to the remote on the amp.see if it fires up .if everything is good them the amp is bad ,but may be an easy fix for a shop

Use a dmm and check voltage at amp the check impedence of sub unhooking from amp first

Take the amp out and take it to the car battery and put poss, and remote wire together and put on pos and neg on ground, and it shoulsd light up if not, internal issue with amp/possibly Cap/Diode/ECT?
