Cool nostalgia thread. I saw one blow up off a Kicker ZR1000 back in the day. I'd be nervous about giving them more than 1200W for too long myself. They were very efficient, loud, and good sounding though.
One of the things I always wanted but couldn't afford 600-800$ for one back in the early 90's.

right they were really werent designed for continous loud music non stop, the 2 spiders were for cone control, the accordian surround was obviously adpoted from a pro audio loudspeaker, they were designed for sound reinforcement on movie tracks, but just like today, some car audio nut seen a woofer that would take 1000w and it found its way into a car

when I dug for that like 5 years ago it didnt exist lol, and they had no clue, didnt know a thing about the sub, guess they got tired of the calls lol

Makes sense, since CV did reccomend some very large boxes.

Hah i had a black 2300x on two solo baric 12c's in around 99-2000. My box is big guys, i think its 5+ cubes lol. Honestly im not trying to blow it nor really show it off but the vid shows a unique sub moving like a bastard

I would go smaller, like 3-4, you are going to lose some power handling in a big box

Fwiw i have three rubicon 2500d's, four c&d tech batts, a kinetik 1800 up front, i am prob going to pick up three soundstream spl hf 12s when i can
