Stroking the 15" Stroker with my Rubi 2500d - little vid (pretty cool)

this thread makes me want to buy my old stroker back, still sittin in my buddys garage, I have a mtx blue thunder 150x2 and a 75x2, 600w bridged to the stroker 12 and 75w each door and do a small oldschool build, also it was a 'limited edition' D2 so I could run it on a dual channel bridged at 4 or a newer mono amp

Hey everyone great posts! I wasnt aware fully what adjusting the pole did, learn new things each day!! Ill get a pic of the box its in in, 4 4" aeros tuned real low... It deeeeeestroys the lows, i know its limits as well. Its been a fun go between sub while i ponder my next move.

here was mine

Ps i think the sub is fine, any odd noises may be small air leaks in the box, its been around a time or two and has some amp screw holes in it here and there which may not be all filled in with caulking or more screws

the basic technology in them can be found in about any $150 1000w sub on ebay, for their day they were way advanced, remember $600 15 years ago was like $1200 today, and they are really a great musical sub that take power, but saying you would be hardpressed to find a better 'sql' sub today is a far from true statement, there are plenty of subs out there today that sound just as good, but I really dont think OP bought it for that reason, when I look at his age it seems like he bought it for the reason I got one a few years back, I couldnt afford it when I was 16, and all my buddys were like holy ****, a stroker, lol
I'm not talking JUST SQ, or JUST SPL. It's hard to find a sub that can do BOTH as well as the Stroker can.

yea it adjusts the 'sag', there is a technical term, if yours is og then is probably needs adjusting, they would do it at cerwin vega with some expensive *** machine that measure it in like thousands or whatever, you could also send them to them to have them 'adjusted' to change the sound, basically change the t/s parameters to suit an enclosure, power, or change the way it sould sound in an enviorment, ie if they were used in a stadium, or just a few in a small church or something

thats cool, one day i heard a loud flapping noise and my cone started to pull away from the outside spider, a little epoxy fixed it, i didnt really want to recone it, everything I found wasnt OE parts obviously so if I reconed it then it really wasnt a stroker then right?

Mine is dual4 and i traded a buddy an orion h2 15 for it, for all intents and purposes the orion is a better sub imho but yes who doesnt want a stroker if possible?!

make sure the cone and spiders are secured and havnt start to pull apart, what box size do you have it in? The recommended for the 12 was like 4 cubes or something rediculous lol, but I think that was more of a home theater box, I tried 4, then 3, and settled on a simple 2.25 tuned to 32, it played below tuning VERY well.

Cool nostalgia thread. I saw one blow up off a Kicker ZR1000 back in the day. I'd be nervous about giving them more than 1200W for too long myself. They were very efficient, loud, and good sounding though.

One of the things I always wanted but couldn't afford 600-800$ for one back in the early 90's.

I remember hearing 2 12s on 2 mtx 2300's (over 1000w each for you youngins) the guy had them in a prefab SEALED, the box flexed like a tin can but holy **** it was loud, in like a 92 yellow escort on tri stars lol
