Stroker 15 vs a pair of L7 15's

Anyone here think a stroker pro 15" could get as loud as a pair of L7 15's?

Now that the thrill of getting back into car audio isn't making me do crazy things, i kinda wanna go a little more low-profile, and get a setup i can fit under my hatch-cover.

Originally i was thinking of a pair of L7 12's to replace my 15's, but lately i've been thinking about getting a single 15" stroker pro and an orion 2500D, becaue i haven't heard anything bad about the new strokers' sound quality, in fact the only bad thing i hear about them is price, but you can get them for $600 on ebay new.

Think I would lose much SPL compared to my L7's?

I realize there's no replacement for displacement, but 40mm xmax............. The L7's aren't touching that, they barely move.

Just wanted to see what you guys think!!!!!

Thanks.

And does ANYONE know where i can find specs on the new non-pro regular stroker? The cerwin vega site hasn't been updated since they came out, they still don't have t/s or a user's manual up on their site, and it just says 'projected specs'

they're $100 less, and i have NO idea how they compare....... Or what their space requirements are or anything for that matter.

how does xmax factor into total output relative to cone area?

Because the stroker has over 2x the xmax....

is cone area still more important? Or would it vary depending on material, frequency, etc?

so would the general consensus be that the stroker's most likely louder than a SINGLE L7?

The pro's are realistically too expensive for me to buy/power TWO of them, so i wrote an e-mail to cerwin vega last night asking them for specs of the non-pro stroker. I'll post them up when i get them (if they write me back)

And what's the current opinion of the mtx 9500's for the $$? My searching wasn't showing much beyond the initial bashing of them, and of course snoopdan's broken cone(s) incident is utterly frightening for the $$, but i was wondering if anyone has experience with them to know how they REALLY compare to L7's, propaganda aside. (real world useage)

I'm basically just keeping my eyes out for something new, that doesn't require quite as much space as these L7's..... I kinda hate looking in my rearview mirror and seeing 80% subwoofer box, hahaha.. It's loud and all, but not very practical, and i know there's something out there that can get louder with less room, and sure as hell can't afford a pair of xxx's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Strokers are very nice, and I would say that the stoers would take the cake. But I see you want SQL, and all im seeing you mention is subs geared toward SPL. 9500's, and L7's . I mean if you want a nice SPL budget sub, look at the Massive Audio DMX12 or 15. There is one on ebay right now for $450 i think !! OR if you want SQL, man its hard to beat those MAG's.
