I finally learned how much difference box build can make. Put my subs in a box that was about .1 cuft bigger per chamber and made out of 3/4 instead of 1" MDF. The difference was like night and day. The 3/4 box sounded like crap. The new box was actually flexing. It was designed just like the old one just a touch bigger. I didn't think that changing would make such a big difference. Needless to say I have switched back.

Both boxes are sealed.

Like I said it was only a little bit larger and built just the same but sounded completey differently. The MDF was quite a bit lighter so maybe it was cheaper wood.

if 3/4 is flexing, then you have a problem. i can see a 1" front baffle to support the weight, but the rest should be more than fine to support the setup you have.

That is what I thought. All I am sure of is it was definately wasted money.
