I use a razor blade, knife, wire cutters, box cutter. Basicall whatever the hell will cut through the coating lol

Pocket knife, razor, rusty butter knife...anything but wire strippers, you lose too many wires with those things

X2, basically a utility knife, turned slowly around the outside of the wire.

X 100000000! This is by far and away the best method for stripping large gauge wire. I recently did an install where I was having to strip large gauge wire and the cigar cutter is now part of the tool bag. I will never do another large job without it.
