Neon turns off and on. Nowadays the thing to do is LED. They can sequence, change color, do a lot of cool stuff. Plus they are harder to break.

neither is worth the hassle they are illegal to use while in motion. a good led kit will cost some crazy money too. not worht the bling if you ask me.... cops her love stoping you for it too.. b,s..

I don't have much experience using them, but i would recomend you hook them up using a realay and a 12v switch.
