Street Rod Radio issue

After much deliberation and bitchin (WIFE) she wants a radio in our 32 Ford. Problem is I cant mount a indash anywhere except under the seat. So I have 2 options

1: use a wired remote that is small... like 3" X 2" in the center console

2: Find a wired optical extension to put in the console for the hand held remote.

I cannot remote mount the face plate either. The entire dash is gauges with no spared space..

Ideas????

I do not have a head unit now and my budget is under 300.00 ...

I would just get any hu that has an aux plug. Then just mout it anywhere you can. Then run the aux cord to a phone or mp3 player or i pod and use music or radio or internet radio off one of thos. just have the volume up on cd player and turn it down on your device. It would be the easyest anyway

do a bluetooth unit that way you can remote mount and remotely control everything, it'll make things easier on you if you really don't have space.
