Strapping two amps to a dual 1 ohm subwoofer?

U mad brah?
Lets say I have a dual 1 ohm 3k rms subwoofer and I have two identical 1500 watt rms @ 1 ohm amps. I could strap both amps together for a final load of...

3000 watts RMS @ 2 ohm

or

1500 watts RMS x 2 @ 1 ohm

Could I treat each coil as single one ohm and wire 1500 watts to each coil or would I have to wire it to two ohm?

Yes, but use a multimeter and make sure each amp is putting out matching numbers. Not sure what to be looking for just know you can do it but they have to be perfectly tuned/matching

Edit: Its just like using a dmm to set you gain. Make sure each gain on each amp is identical

the dual amp thing can be done. i did it with 2 old school mtx's to my D4 RD sonance 15 last year. Just use a 50 or 60 hz tone and user your meter. play the tone at 3/4 volume and hook the meter to the speaker terminals of one amp. when you feel its loud enough with no clipping , i'll throw a random number out here , lets say 45 volts AC , then go to the other amp and set it at the same exact voltage. it will work fine if done that way but its much easier to just strap them. the only reason i did it with 2 amps was because mine were old school 2 channels and were not strappable. and it was all i could afford at the time.
