Its always safer to strap up, never know what you'll catch out here.

Edit: Oh.. I'm out then. I'd rather unstrap them and run .5 individually, just incase one were to bite the dust, so you could then temporarily have one amp. If one were to go, i'd honestly go .25 on the remaining amp assuming you have the electrical for it, since you'll have to replace one anyway, might as well get both updated versions.

When i had 2 amps, i went back and forth between strapped and unstrapped, because i was able to run 1 ohm unstrapped or .5 strapped which would be .25 per amp. It was a mtx81001, and even though the guts looked lackluster, i did gain going from unstrapped to strapped, but i also was abusing the dog shit out of the little amps. Only reason they gave in was complete user error too, test tones are bad to mix in on a normal cd. Especially 25hz when you have a box tuned at 50.

I have two kids so you better strap up save you sh*t ton of money. But personally I would never strap a amp. Just because you run the risk of damaging each of them at the same time. But the way some of the post are reading is that they want last long.
