I know it has been talked on here to death but I couldnt find threads on it when I searched so here goes...OK Im having problems hearing noises out my subs. The setup I got for free and its a Vibe250 Amp with some type of 12 in JL Audio subs. Im going to take them out the box soon to see what model they are since my friend who gave it to me didnt know. The problem Im having is that Im hearing all type of noise through my speakers. When theres no music playing or it isnt loud enough to drown out I can hear a constant thumping noise out of the subs. When lets say like the lights go out inside the car I can hear it through the subs. When I turn on my headlights I hear a thump everytime the lights go on. When I turn the car off sometimes I can still hear the thumping sound even with the HU off for like 3 seconds after i shut the car off. What can cause something like this to happen and is it alright to have a 4 ga power wire and like 2ft long 8 ga ground wire??? Mind you I dont think this amp is giving anymore than 250 watts to a sub but Im not sure if its 4 ohm or 2 yet so who knows.... Also I didnt feel like taking apart my whole car again to run another set of RCA cables from the HU to the sub amp so I just used the line output from my first amp to the sub amp. Is that ok in doing??? I also dont hear these sounds out of my speakers just the subs...and Ive grounded my Pioneer headunit RCAs already.
