Stock head unit = no RCA's HELP!!!!

Hello fellow audio fanatics,

I just bought my wife a 2001 Buick Century and it has a GM (delco) stock CD Player/Stereo w/o any RCA's. I have hooked up many little systems before but only to aftermarket units w/ RCA's. I read somewhere that I need a hi low converter. Where and how do i use this. Do I plug the RCA's into the amp and the other side into the converter and then what? I do not want to pay 75-100 bucks for someone to do it when I am one step away. I hooked the remote wire to the 12v+ ignition wire. Is that correct. I feel like a car audio newbie. These stock units just baffle me!

Thanks

What are you looking to hook up? If you're doing subs most people suggest that you splice the positive from one rear speaker and the negative from another into the high level input converter. Then the RCAs run off that to the amp. They usually cost around $20 for 2 channel but you may be able to find one for less.

is it the bose system, if so dont even bother hooking up a line out converter it is a waste of time, in order to hook subs up you would have to buy a new headunit, speakers, and rewire the whole car

The OEM HU is not the original. The previous owner wanted a stock cd and bought the GM stock for low$. I heard about doing the rear speaker splice. If that is all, then i shouldn't have a problem. I am hooking up a 300w Jensen Amp w/ one RF Punch 12". Just something cheap for my wife that sounds good. Thanks everyone
