stock alternator + yellow top - enough?

Just got a new car, 05 trailblazer.

150 amp stock alternator.

currently have a use amps ax-1500de (1500+ watts).

i was curious.. EA wants up to $4-500 for a 250-300 amp alternator replacement.

i have an optima yellow top battery, and i was wondering if i upgraded the grounds, ran wiring as normal and had the yellow top in the rear with the amp, would that be sufficient to run a system at least temporarily or would an alternator upgrade be NECESSARY ? i want to avoid damage to my amp, since having not enough power in my last vehicle blew a cap in the amp..

installation error could have very well been possible...

check the local car audio install shop review section for PA

the thread about 'team nutz'

that was me. they totally effed my install.

but, after sending my amp back to usamps they said a capacitor was blown, more than likely due to insufficient power or drop in voltage.

so as long as i have the wiring done correctly, have everything fused up and what not with the yellow top in the rear, i shouldnt have any issues with my system or amp?
